Gratitude

Today is Thanksgiving...a time to gather with family and friends and give thanks for what the past year has brought. It’s been an eventful year with a visit from Hurricane Florence that made landfall at our beautiful Wrightsville Beach. I am grateful that most of the mountains of debris has been picked up. It was a constant reminder of the devastation Flo caused. There is finally a sense of normalcy for most. Some are still dealing with great loss and my heart goes out to them.
I am grateful for: my family who lights my life everyday; supportive artist friends who inspire me and make me strive to do better; gallery owners who work so hard to promote my work and make me look good; collectors who are interested in seeing new work; a comfortable studio to work/play in; the opportunity to travel, even for a short distance, to see beautiful things to inspire me. “Carolina Cotton” 24x30 oil is from a short trip to Greenville, NC. I finally got to pull over and photograph a cotton field on a sunny day! A hashtag I use on Instagram is #luckiestgirlyouknow and I truly feel that I am.
Wishing everyone a happy and safe holiday season and if you have a minute, comment or check out my website at www.annhair.com
