State of the Art, Art of the State at the Cameron Art Museum

What a fantastic opportunity the Cameron Art Museum, Wilmington, NC has presented to all NC artists. The CAM invited all NC artists to bring one piece of art to the museum within a 24 hour (yes, they were open all night) period to be hung in a display in the museum. The most exciting part is that the show was curated by 3 world class curators. The curators spoke to the artists about their work and directed the hanging of the show. What an opportunity to shake hands and speak to a curator. I spoke to Timothy Burgard, curator of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. Also in attendance was Susan Davidson, the Guggenheim, NY and Nicholas Culligan, The Tate, London.
After delivering my painting "Pink Hydrangeas and Pears" on Friday evening, along with 800 other artists from across the state, I volunteered on Sat. morning to help receive work. This gave me an opportunity to meet some of the artists and see the show unfold. I must say, it was fantastic! If you can get to Wilmington before October 31st, visit the Cameron Art Museum and see the State of the Art, Art of the State featuring over 800 works of art by NC Artists!
