Pleinair Paintouts and Awards

Flight
Flight

April was a busy and rewarding month. This was my test run after having heart surgery in Jan. I'm not 100% yet but this schedule showed me what I am capable of so far. Early April found me painting in the gardens during the Azalea Festival in Wilmington. I was able to paint 5 paintings in 2 1/2 days and sold 3 of them that weekend. I was extremely honored to receive the 3rd place award from judge Dan Beck during this event for "Flight", 8x8 oil.

That same weekend, I was honored to receive an honorable mention award at the Bellamy Mansion Yesterday and Today show.

Late April, found me painting in Norfolk, VA for the East Beach Circle who raises funds and donates to the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters. There, I sold 3 small paintings but was again honored to receive an honorable mention, one of only 3 awards. I'd say it was a pretty good month.

Early in May, I participated in Paint Out Wilmington and will be showing that work at the Arts Council of Wilmington and New Hanover County. I am looking forward to slowing down.
