Lucky, Spoiled, Inspired and Grateful...all describe the incredible opportunity to paint at Bald Head Island, NC for 4 days. Last year, at this time, I was overwhelmed with plans for our daughter's wedding but I managed to slip away for 2 nights to paint with some special artists friends at Bald Head Island. Fortunately, this year I was able to go for 4 nights. We had perfect, yet windy weather. The house we were lucky enough to stay in (seabreezerentals.com/islandway) was incredible too. I've run out of words to describe this trip! Ocean views, breathtaking sunsets and just plain fun were in store for the lucky ladies invited on this trip. Bald Head Island's transportation is only on golf carts so every morning we would load up our painting gear and head off to explore the island. We set up painting the island's chapel, the lighthouse, the beach, the maritime forest and right outside our window. All About Art is the gallery on Bald Head Island that carries local artist's work (mine included), so we made stops in there to deliver work. If you are ever on the island, stop in and see Joyce and Sue and tell them I sent you!  I came home with 5 paintings, tons of photographs, and special memories. Can't wait until next year!
